Shortlisted for Small Festival of the Year!October 8, 2019
The shortlist for this year’s National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) Awards 2019 has been announced and we have been shortlisted for Small Festival of the Year – for any event that attracts less than 5,000 attendees, which ours does! Hurrah!
We’re up against some chuffin’ great competition…
– Street Food Warehouse
– Eilean Dorcha Festival
Whatever the outcome of the awards on 27th November, we are just so happy to even be considered for this award. It’s great recognition for our family-run festival.
We look back over the last six years and when we think about how we started to what we are today, we understand how much hard work has gone into creating this little festival, not just by us here at UTSf HQ, but all the help we have had on the way from some of the most incredible people. We want to write down everyones names, but there are sooooo many to mention, we would be writing for days! They have all guided us on our journey to become the festival you see today…
All profits from UTSf are fed-back back into our next event and invested in the programming, volunteers, and inviting families who could not otherwise afford to attend, hosting training workshops, and making the site more accessible for those who identify as D/deaf or disabled.
We work in partnership with a range of local businesses, community and social enterprises and each year we support a charity – 2019’s official charity partner being Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Festival director, Emma Holling, says, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for the prestigious award of Small Festival of the Year and would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the overwhelming success of our sixth Underneath the Stars festival. It has been wonderful to welcome friends old and new to our little corner of Yorkshire and the feedback has been simply remarkable. Tickets are already on sale for an even bigger and better 2020 Underneath the Stars festival and we’ll be announcing details of the lineup very soon.”
The 16th annual Convention and Awards Dinner will be held in Roman Baths and Pump Rooms, Bath on November 27th 2019, run by NOEA, the UK’s leading outdoor events and trade association, representing outdoor event professionals across government, business and through specialised areas such as policing and local government policy.
What can we say…??? We are soooooOOOOooo excited!
